UCSD Water Polo Camp
Camp FAQ
Where will my child be staying?
All resident campers will be staying in the residence halls in the Eleanor Roosevelt College area of UCSD's campus. The Eleanor Roosevelt College residence halls are suites allowing several campers to interact within their own common living space.
What are the ages and abilities for camp? How hard is camp?
Campers must be at least 13 years old, with a maximum age for all camps and clinics being 18 years old. Campers must be competent swimmers with some experience in the sport of water polo. There is a coach in charge of each group to ensure campers receive optimal instruction. Campers should be able to complete two 2-hour water polo sessions per day.

How can my child get from the airport or train to campus?
Due to University Policy, we do not offer airport/train station pick-ups or drop offs. Here are a few suggestions:
- Cloud 9 Shuttle $19 (one way) www.cloud9shuttle.com
- Taxi Yellow Cab (858) 444-4444 www.driveu.com
What should my child bring to camp? Will they have bedding? Do they need extra cash?
See Water Polo Camper Checklist.
Who is watching them at night in the dorms? Will someone walk them over after practice at night? How far is the pool from the Dorm?
Campers are supervised at all times by UC San Diego Water Polo Camp Staff. The ratio is 8 campers to 1 staff member. Each room will be assigned a staff member to monitor during non-water polo activities. A staff member will be supervising the campers to and from all practices. The distance from the dorm to the pool is less than a 8 minute walk.
